I left my herbs and tomato seedlings out today so they can get some sunshine. Unfortunately half of all my herbs dried out, all my parsley and 4 of my tomatoes.
Hardening them off has to be closely watched. Just an hour the first day, then keep extending the time in the sunshine. Personally, I put them out for hours under cheesecloth tents for a few days before planting them in the garden. I'm in Maine so that might make a difference. Seems to work ok for me and they don't get burned.

outside, water, water, water - they must be watched when you 1st put them out. All our herbs have taken right off - I will get picts this w'end.
